A Fume Hood is a safety device designed to limit exposure to toxic fumes, vapors, and dust during experiments. It typically consists of:

  • An enclosed workspace with a glass sash (movable window) at the front.
  • A ventilation system that pulls air from the lab and exhausts it outside (or through filters).
  • Internal lighting and sometimes electrical/gas ports for equipment inside.
